Recently I was invited, along with other bloggers, by Ladbrokes to attend the IPCO British Champions Day at Ascot Races. Being the richest race day of the year it gave us all the opportunity to get dolled up, watch the world’s finest horses and jockeys battle it out for their slice of British history, while experiencing the winning post package. This consisted of a champagne reception, 4 course lunch, afternoon tea and refreshments throughout the day. How could I say no!
After much deliberation I decided to wear a black top and skirt from Cos with a white collar underneath, completed with my fave boots from Jones Bootmaker and Balenciaga handbag. Not being a girly girl and never wearing heels, I was a bit nervous of what to wear, but I think I made the right choice for my style in the end. What do you think?
I had never been to the races before so I was very excited to see what it was all about and meet some like minded ladies in the process. The venue was lovely, the food was delicious and getting to know the other bloggers while watching the races was such fun. I had a small bet on Frankie Dettori and his horse Danzeno, who came third in the second race (if I remember correctly) winning me a few pounds, which was great.
Another highlight of my day was getting to know Millie (She Hearts the High Street) and Jessica (Cocoa Chelsea) who’s hat I stole for some of the pictures. I had such a fun day with these stylish ladies and we had a great time shooting each others outfits.
I am so glad I got to experience the races first hand and enjoy such a fabulous day. I would highly recommended it if you haven’t been yourself! What would you wear? xxxx
