I was so excited to visit the Manchester Christmas Market this year. It was the activity I was most looking forward to from my bucket list (here). Being from Manchester I really missed going last year, after moving to London in the summer. It turned out that I was lucky enough to visit three of the biggest cities festive markets this year and they were all fantastic!

This market is in such a picturesque setting below the mound. It stretches from The National Gallery to St Andrews Square. Edinburgh is such a charming and historical city.. it really started to feel like Christmas while I was there. It has a wide variety of stalls ranging from beautiful hand made gifts to teutonic treats. I really enjoyed strolling the Market stalls and enjoying a gluhwein while looking up at the castle. What more could you ask for?

The London South Bank Centre Market runs along the river Themes from the London Eye to Waterloo Bridge. Here you can enjoy the traditional market experience and soak up the atmosphere with 2 daily choir performances. There are a plenty of stalls to browse while also taking in the icon scenery. Last year my boyfriend bought me some lovely Austrian crystal earrings from one of the traders, which I have worn nearly every day since. To my delight the stall was there again this year and I was treated to another pair 🙂 . I was also very tempted to have a go on the carousel too! This picture below is definitely my favourite, the sky that evening was beautiful.

Now I may be a little bit biased, but the Manchester Christmas market is definitely my favourite. Not only because I got to catch up with some friends too, but because it offers such a magical and traditional german market atmosphere. It is also the biggest market out of the three with over 300 stalls over 9 destinations in the city. You have to try bratwurst, a tasty German beer and buy a ginger bread house to share with your friends. I just can’t get enough! Sorry for the lack of/bad iphone pictures for this one.. I was too busy enjoying myself!

Have you been to any Christmas Markets this year? Which one is your favourite?xx
