Hey guys, can you believe it’s Christmas on Sunday?! I am so excited to be staying at home this year and spending the day with Steve, opening presents, drinking champagne, eating lots and definitely relaxing for once. Do you have any exciting plans? I’d love to hear them.
If you follow me on Instagram, you will know that I’ve not been feeling well the last few days, I am full of a stinking cold, boohoo woe is me, lol. In an attempt to put a positive spin on our day, I thought I would share with you 10 things that make me happy today. If you’re ever feeling down or unmotivated, I would highly recommend making a list of things that you love, It really does help to turn your mood around, I do love a good old list!
So here goes…
You guys: The readers and supporters of this blog. You really are the best, I can’t thank you enough for taking the time out of your day to visit this little space on the internet. Big kisses to you!
Family and friends: This goes without saying, the people you surround yourself with are so important and make a huge difference to your life. You might like to read more about why best friends are so important.
Health: I am forever grateful for my health and that of my loved ones, you never know when this may change. Don’t ever take that for granted.
Opportunities: I have had some really fabulous experiences as a blogger this year and it couldn’t make me happier. I get to engage with you guys, meet inspiring like minded people and work with some amazing brands. What dreams are made of.
Clothes: All the beautiful garments that make me feel amazing when I wear them. I salute you. Nothing beats a fresh pair of trainers or a new lacy dress, they are guaranteed to make me smile every time.
Skills: I love nothing more than learning a new skill. Last weekend I attended a blogger workshop with Olympus where we learned to use the various setting on our Olympus Pen cameras. I enjoyed it so much, I can not wait for the next one.
Travel: Steve and I have just booked to go back to Las Vegas next year in May, woohoo, our spiritual home. I’m also thinking of going to Paris in February, I am 32 years old and have never been there, shocking I know. There are so many beautiful places in the world and it’s so exciting knowing that I can tick some more off my bucket list next year.
Music: I love nothing better than listening to my new favourite song on repeat for hours, probably until I can’t bear to hear it anymore, hehe. Does anyone else do that?
Food: Food glorious food, as I sit here writing this, Steve is making a chicken curry in the slow cooker and it smells amazing. I can’t wait to shove it in my face!
The time I spent with my Dad: Now I’m trying very hard with this one, I’ll be honest. This new years day will be a year since he sadly passed away and my natural reaction, understandably, is to feel sadness and anger that he is no longer here with me. This is obviously heartbreaking, but I am so grateful for the time that we spent and things that we experienced together. Those are the things that get me through, those happy times that I will never forget for as long as I live. RIP ‘Big H’. If you’re dealing with loss and grief, you may find this post helpful.
